In a move placed to stir emotion and excitement for the upcoming Ford GT, Ford have made the configurator live for their $450k supercar.
We don’t need to tell you how stunning it is, or thrilled we are that it’s coming through looking just like the concept!
Promising 600bhp from the 3.5 v6 EcoBoost power-plant, the new GT clearly thunders to the top of the Ford Performance Hierarchy, leaving the Focus RS, and various iterations of the Mustang in its wake.
I instantly fell in love with the original GT (mostly through playing the first two in the Need For Speed video game series!) and it was very recently where I pondered the thought of a replica. Released in January 2004, the last Gen of the GT is a rare sight on the road to say the least; not surprising giving it’s equally opulent price tag. It was renowned for making up for its unreliability, and frankly, astonishingly absent fuel economy and range – (not that you should or would concern yourself with such frivolous matters!) by breathtaking performance and heart stopping handling from the thunderous 5.4 litre supercharged v8 engine.
Poised to “exhibit one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any production car” by Ford, the 600bhp GT Sports a carbon monocoque chassis and pushrod suspension assembled on aluminium subframes and wrapped in carbon fibre panels.
The configurator going live drives the recent Ford hype machine into overdrive.
If anyone is feeling generous, we’ll take ours equipped with carbon fibre 20″ wheels (using similar technology to the worked Mustang GT350’s)!
